
Only one in four American school children get an adequate
amount of physical activity each day.
The number of overweight children is rising rapidly, with almost thirteen percent of six to eleven year olds classified as obese. Not only does research indicate adequate activity may have an affect on brain development, studies also show that recommended levels of physical activity increase children’s bone mineral density (BMD). Adequate BMD can prevent conditions such as osteoporosis later in life.
