A joint message from the Academy and National Athletic Trainers’ Association informs parents that overuse injuries, sore shoulders, and swollen knees are on the rise and need prompt attention in child athletes to prevent chronic problems later in life. Physical activity is a great way for kids to build bone strength and stay healthy, along with proper education, safety and appropriate injury prevention practices.
