Adam S Bright, MD
Sarasota, FL

I am an active member of the American Academy of Orthopaedics. I have served for 6 years on the AAOS Board of Councilors, and have been on the Executive Board of the Florida Orthopedic Society for 7 years. I have been president of the Sarasota County Medical Society, and have also been Chief of the Orthopaedic Section for my hospital, Sarasota Memorial Hospital. I am member of a 3 member orthopaedic group (Schofield, Hand, and Bright Orthopaedics), and enjoy being a general orthopaedic surgeon with a specialty interest in joint replacement surgery.

I have been on FOX News television Capital Report (state-wide) discussing medical liability reform. I have been on our local FOX television station discussing new advances in knee replacement and discussing wrong-site surgery. I have published papers on the anatomy of the shoulder and on leg lengthening/reconstruction. I provided content and helped write the AAOS Bulletin article on the orthopedic coverage crisis in emergency rooms. I led the negotiations in Sarasota to continue orthopedic ER coverage by providing reimbursement for taking call. I originated the suggestion to develop a Professional Compliance Program for the AAOS.

I am a fitness enthusiast. I have completed 7 marathons, including the Boston Marathon, and multiple triathlons, including 2 ironman races. I love being an orthopaedic surgeon, and am extremely proud of our AAOS.
