I grew up in Boston, went to College of the Holy Cross, spent two years in West Africa as a Peace Corps Volunteer. I returned to to prepare for and go to Medical school at Georgetown University School of Medicine. I completed residency training at Hospital for Special Surgery In New York City. I was on active duty in the US Navy in Japan and in Virginia Beach. I did a fellowship in Orthopaedic trauma at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle and ultimately joined the staff there after separating from the military in 2005.
