Marc M DeHart, MD Austin, TX
Dr. DeHart received a Biology degree in the College of Natural Sciences at the University of Texas at Austin. He received his M.D. from the Medical College of Virginia (now Virginia Commonwealth Unversity) and completed his Orthopaedic Residency at the Wilford Hall USAF Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas. While on active duty with the United States Air Force, Dr. DeHart served as a F-16 flight surgeon for the 69th Tactical Fighter Squadron. After completing a fellowship in adult hip and knee reconstructive surgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, he returned to San Antonio where as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Orthopaedics, he instructed residents at both the Wilford Hall USAF Medical Center and the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.
Dr. DeHart is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He is a member of the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons, the Texas Medical Association, and the Texas Orthopaedic Association. He holds a certificate of added qualification in sports medicine. He is a specialist in the surgical treatment of arthritis of the hip and knee, but also enjoys general orthopedic surgery and sports medicine. Dr. DeHart is an Assistant Professor for the University of Texas Medical Branch and the first orthopedic surgeon from the Austin area to be inducted into the American Orthopaedic Association. He serves on staff at area hospitals and enjoys speaking on orthopedic related issues with local groups.
